What a stunning picture! I’m speechless. This is so timeless.

Thank you very much! I’d been there a bit and wasn’t having much luck, but when these two fellas turned up I knew I had the chance of getting something interesting.

It’s so far out, man!
It is. Incredibly far out!

shinjuku government building?

Yeah, that’s the spot. Was passing by and the cloudy sky seemed like it might make a visit worthwhile.

What a fantastic photograph. I can feel that special floating suspension of all around you as you gaze out over the city in awe and wonder.
That view out over towards Nakano is one of my favourites from there, especially at night. You are on what feels like the west edge of the city already, but looking out further north and west like this you can see it just goes on and on and on. So many people. Every window opening inward on who know how many stories.
In two posts you have gone from the life of a single individual to that of perhaps a million. Awesome.

Thank you. It’s a pretty amazing view, isn’t it? Good for me to see stuff like this every now and again as it’s easy to forget jut how vast this city really is.
“So many people. Every window opening inward on who know how many stories.” I like that. Couldn’t think of anything to write so just went with the title, but that would have fitted perfectly.
Cheers. Quite a contrast eh, but that’s Tokyo in a nutshell.

This is one of your best imho. There’s so much to take in and I really like the old guys. First I was just wowed but then it made me think about the city, people, life…………..

Thank you. Must admit it came out way better than I expected. Good to hear it provoked a few responses. Definitely means I did something right.

I remember gazing out from those windows and being amazed at how vast Tokyo is. From that vantage point, it can feel like the city goes on forever. I’ve heard that, on a clear day, one can see Mount Fuji. And while Fuji-san isn’t in your photo, it seems from it that the tower reaches the sky — which is even more miraculous! 🙂

Yeah, that’s what always strikes me when I see the city like this. It just goes on and on, in all directions…
You can. Possible to see Fuji from lots of places in Tokyo, especially so in winter when it’s much clearer. Always a treat to get a glimpse. A sight that never loses its appeal.

amazing. conjures sci-fi thoughts of parallel universes, those men with fedora-ish hats…

Thank you. To be honest, it wasn’t the shot I was hoping for when I went up there, but this turned out much better than I expected. Much better than the kind of shot I had planned to try and get too. The two old fellas in hats really made it.
