Intriguing character you’ve captured there, and what a wonderful look on her face (peering over the top of her specs like that). Fabulous photo.

Thanks a lot.
Yeah, a really interesting woman, and getting that stare was a wonderful stroke of fortune. Couldn’t have asked for a better look if I’d asked.

Hehe, that’s a stare that says a lot!

Yes, it does. So much in fact that needless to say I didn’t hang about!

One of the best things about this shot is the composition…spot on. B & W was also called for.

Thank you very much.
Glad you agree. The colours were really quite distracting, so black and white worked much better.

She’s phoning to report herself in to the fashion police.

Quite likely she included me as well!

Message received loud and clear. Great shot.

Cheers! Yes, her look is pretty unambiguous, isn’t it?

Great composition, love the location you placed this obatarian, she looks like she wanted to give you a piece of her mind 🙂
8/4/2015 at 11:26 am
Yes, without a doubt. Fortunately she was busy on the phone, or otherwise she might well have given me a piece of something else…
8/4/2015 at 7:41 am
What a look! Looks like she wants to tell you something 🙂
8/4/2015 at 11:28 am
Isn’t it? And I dread to think what she wanted to tell me!

So, that answers a question: what do 1990s Gyaru look like when they grow up, er, twenty years later? LOL
8/6/2015 at 10:15 am
Hadn’t thought of that, but yeah, a distinct possibility!

This is a great shot. I love that there is still 4 pay phones waiting for customers.

Yes, it’s rare to see so many together. Surprising how often I see one of them in use too. Although that said, it’s only ever one.

I’m all for people wearing what the hell they like – I do – but as a pure observation it’s interesting to see that the inverse correlation of skirt length to thigh girth is the same in Tokyo as the UK.
On black and white – my wife’s elementary school did a project on Victorians and part of it was to draw a picture. One child only used the black crayon, and, suspecting him of being lazy, my wife enquired in a mildly chiding fashion as to why he had foregone the full pallette of colours available. He answered that it was old and everything was black and white in olden times. Had to laugh.

That’s funny. A point that in many ways is difficult to argue with too!

I <3 this shot! I like how she is side eyeing you. It makes me wonder what she is thinking and what else was going on at the moment the photos was taken.

It was quiet when I took the shot, so nothing happening except me taking the photo. But what she was having a conversation about, and what she thought about me I don’t know….
