That’s exactly the look I constantly get in Tokyo: always slightly disapproving, but with very little other facial expression 🙂

Yes, it’s a fairy standard one, isn’t it?
I’m just back from Hokkaido, and what struck me the most up there was how friendly and open the people were. None of the awkwardness either that one sonetimes finds in Tokyo when they are confronted by a gaijin.
Tokyo is a great city, but it would be truly exceptional if the people were as relaxed and friendly as those elsewhere in the country.. But why they aren’t I don’t know…
