I have found that getting to a higher elevation always yields a better survey. Tokyo in particular is such an interesting mix of old + new. You selected a very clear day to shoot this one. Very nice.

Cheers. Yeah, Tokyo really is a fascinating mishmash of the old and new. With the Olympics coming, there’s definitely going to be an increase in the latter — lots of construction going on.
Generally pretty bright in winter. Same this year too, as well as unusually warm.

Very nice ! Is that from one of the Shibuya buildings, close to the station ? I feel like I have taken a similar photograph once. Oh, and happy new year, and wish you the best for you and your family (especially health)

Thanks! Yes, from Shibuya Hikarie. Wasn’t sure what was up there, so was very pleasantly surprised to be greeted with this.
Thank you very much. You too, all the very best.

The skies look bright and clear, and make one hopeful — a nice start to the new year. Hope 2016 will be a happy year for you Lee.

Yes, had some wonderfully clear and blue skies. Been oddly warm too. Up to 16 degrees some days.
Thank you very much. Hope 2016 is very kind to you too.

I love to share views like that with someone special and your shot evokes that feeling. Joined in silhouette but attentions at that instant divided.
Recognising the Shinjuku skyline fooled me a little as I didn’t immediately understand what a wonderfully clear day it was and that the shot was from all the way over in Shibuya.
I saw lots of tall buildings in Shibuya, but didn’t know which ones had good views open to the public. I’ve made a note of this one.
So many details in shots like these, from the distant Park Hyatt (How I’d love to stay there!), past the “HAVE NICE BODY” ad in the middle ground, to the giant bowling pin in the foreground.

It was their divided attentions that made the shot for me. Made it much more interesting, so was very happy to get it.
Yeah, a beautiful day. An aspect of winter here I really like. Even when cold, it’s common to get wonderfully clear and bright days. Meaning lovely light and fantastic views. Views which, like you say, offer so many great little details.

once again, love the composition.

Thank you. Compared to many of the shots I take, I had plenty of time for this one. Although that said, more time often results in over thinking it…

Excellent result, love the couple in silhouette!

Cheers. My impatience nearly got the better of me, but an extra few minutes wait resulted in these two walking into the frame, allowing me to get more or less what I was after.
