People who have dogs like that are weird.

I’m beginning to think chihuahuas are actually born wearing clothes, as it’s now so unusual to see them ‘naked’. That said, the likes of Superman outfits aren’t exactly the norm. At least not yet…

The outfit is a bit odd, but that dog is so adorable!!

If you like this little fella, you’d love Tokyo. It’s basically chihuahua central!

This photo just made me smile from ear to ear! I can’t relate to those who think dressing up furry friends is weird. I think it’s adorable! And on this little fellow, the “Man of Steel” costume is just cherries on top to my day! Love, love, love it! 🙂

Glad to hear it!
Personally I’m not a huge fans of dogs being dressed up. Especially to the level that is often seen here. But I must admit this little fella did make me smile — a lot.

Haha, never seen the Batman outfit. Maybe it’s best left that way too!

I think it’s just called daft!

That’s awesome. I love the irony. If you’re going to go that way with a dog, might as well have some fun. One of the best that I’ve seen. Bravo.

Yes, probably the most inappropriate outfit for a chihuahua. It’d be nice to think the owner gets the irony, but I wouldn’t bet money on it…

I agree with pet clothes only if they serve some function. Where I live, it can get quite cold (Pittsburgh), so breeds that don’t have as much fur (such as greyhounds or Chihuahuas) need a bit of extra help to keep them warm and healthy when walking them outside. I’ve seen dogs shivering while trying to relieve themselves. It’s so pitiful. But in their little sweaters, they’ll jump all around and into snow drifts. It’s such a happy sight! But *this* serves no purpose for the dog. It’s all for the owner. That being said, as long as they are not mistreating the animal, I don’t see a problem with people dressing up their animals in weird costumes. Especially in Japan. Isn’t it a national pastime to dress up in unconventional/cute costumes?

Only for a very small number of people. The vast amount of cosplay photos that are on the internet give a very false impression.
Yeah, these costumes are all for the owners. They clearly like the attention that the dog (and thus them) get. But like you say, so long as the dogs aren’t being mistreated, at the end of the day they aren’t doing any harm. While smart, dogs certainly aren’t well versed in fashion, or pop culture icons!
