With June almost over, and weather apps now switching from umbrella marks to fiery red sun symbols, it would seem that Tokyo has turned the corner and left the horrible grey humidity of rainy season behind. The dark corners of Tokyo
The morning newspaper ritual, Tokyo street style
The relaxing morning ritual of reading the paper with a cup of coffee isn’t nearly as common as it once was. Well, when one excludes newspapers read on screens, it isn’t, anyway.
This fella, on the other hand, is clearly still keen on getting his news the traditional way, although considering the unconventional reading spot, and the can of whisky highball, they are traditions all his own.
A circular view of Tokyo Skytree
For better or worse, Tokyo Skytree now dominates the capital’s skyline, especially in the east of the city where I spend a lot of time taking photos, and doing photowalk tours. So with that in mind, when it comes to interesting views of the tower, I thought I’d pretty much seen them all, but this circular window offered up something new — or at least something new to me. A different perspective, and also a different kind of picture compared to what I usually post.
